Mercy and Grace

The recent Hurricane/Tropical Storm that created so much damage and loss of property and life did not come nigh our dwelling and we want to thank JEHOVAH for his Mercy and Grace.

None

We send out our prayers for those that lost love ones and the injured during the storm. I pray that the storm serves as a reminder that our days our numbered by the LORD and as
such we should use every moment to
glorify and obey HIM!

Proverbs 27:2

Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

Our family went to watch a baseball game today (not something that is advisable for everyone, because the atmosphere can be offensive, etc...). Nonetheless, we had an interesting and uplifting interaction with a lady.

The woman was sitting directly behind us and after a few innings she asked my wife, "Are they all your children?" She told her that one of the children is our nephew and the woman stated that they are well behaved. Fascinatingly, she then asked are they home-schooled?, of course the answer was yes! Next, she informed us that she is in her first year of home-schooling, although dad is the one doing the schooling.

I wanted to share that according to another we are doing something praiseworthy, however it is not we ourselves, it is HE who teaches us what is right and acceptable to his worthy and just eyes.

May his name be praised!

In the picture is my nephew and oldest daughter (nephew - white shirt, daughter pink shirt and hat)

And the winner is..............

William IV

Don't let the innocent face fool you!

For his tireless efforts of seeking attention, clanging pots, causing his sisters and mother to say, Will!, asking for "more more" all doing the previous school year, has earned him the award of the Most disruptive!

My wife awarded our beloved son with this award at the end of last school year, as we handed out awards to the girls for their hard work. I thought that was hilarious, hopefully this year will be different...........we'll see.

Anyone who has little ones boys knows that this can be a challenge, however GOD'S grace is sufficient!

Lesson well learned by Denesha

              Lesson well learned,God!

About a month ago, late June, most of Maryland experienced one powerful storm, formally called by seasoned meteorologists a Derecho, which by definition is a wide- spread, long-lived wind storm. Sitting in our dining room while bracing the  spontaneous storm that is exactly what we experienced. Strong thunder clashes rocked the house, lightning lit up the sky, and hail bounced off the windows, tensions were high.
Everyone,(namely me and my sisters) assumed the worst, as the storm continued to rage my Father reminded us of the reason of storms such as this, sin. We couldn't imagine the garden with derecho's because there weren't any, but because of sin storms like these happen, amongst other calamities. After enduring the rough week of traveling from  house to house, waiting to get our power restored and the paranoia of every severe thunderstorm, we finally went home and eventually things got back to normal. Lesson well learned though, every time we think were independent or God's a distant memory he reminds of his might and strength, conveying our weakness. He reminds us how we should rely and turn to him in our time of need. In cases like this Derecho we had no  control whatsoever of the occurrences that took place, that's why we hooked up our prayer line.

Pray without ceasing. 1Th 5:17

First Love

Homeschooling began afresh today!

Often a family can be caught up in the planning, curriculum, schedules, books, experiments, outings, etc..., that we sometimes forget the most important purpose.

His name is Jesus the Bright and Morning Star (singing)!

Just a blessed reminder to all readers, that it is a blessing to have the mind of Christ and a willingness to share it with your beloved children. Please don't let the opportunities pass by to lift up the name of Yeshua in love and sincerity.

Matthew 28: 20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

Back to Basics

There are many reasons why we started homeschooling and one of them involved the path that public schools were taking in regards to the core academics. One area in which this became apparent is in the arena of phonics and the basic building blocks of reading and spelling.

Interesting Summer

Where to begin...........I guess at the beginning.

The summer has been full of flavor, we've have been displaced for a week, car problems, housing repairs needed, another car purchased, new member of the house (nephew), children moving to different stages in their development, new directors on the job etc......

Nonetheless, Jehovah is faithful and he has renewed my spirit in the midst of it all because it is minor when compared to the grand scheme.

We are gearing up for another year of homeschooling and I believe we have matured so much and sharpened our focus regarding the eternal benefits of having more opportunities to teach your children the truths of their Creator.

All in all GOD is a merciful and gracious GOD full of compassion and pity for his creation, because we sure do need it!

Let his name be praised!!!

Denesha's Corner

Anger

Anger is like wrath

Creeps by like a cool draft

It lives in a house that’s unstable

It doesn’t have legs like a table

Instead it’s weary and old

And has a story in everyone that can’t be told

Mommy's On Board!

It is my turn to step on deck and pitch in.
I am a Christian African American home school mother of three and a mother to four. I've been home schooling for five years and it has produced both good and bad, but thanks be to GOD that through it all he has strengthened me. I have learned on this journey that you are not too old to learn. The subjects I used to dread, I now enjoy teaching to my children and I now realize that they weren't really that bad.

Emmanuel!!!

I am posting the lyrics to a blessed hymn appropriate for this time.
A lot is transpiring these days and a lot more will take place, but thanks be to GOD that nothing will take HIM by surprise.

Let us praise him in song!

Meat in due Season

Are you Bearing Fruit?
Are you self righteous?
The above are the questions asked by the following scriptures, answer the questions to yourselves and let the Word of GOD be your guide to correcting any errors if necessary.

When is a blessing not a blessing?

Believers are to affirm what GOD affirms and reject what GOD rejects. Sadly, this is not the case when it comes to bearing children. The society has infiltrated the church with the ungodly idea that children are no longer a blessing, but an endeavor that requires risk analysis.

Things to do in Baltimore

The structure of our families lifestyle, requires that we find things for our children to do often because there are not a lot of safe places to let them play. We live on the corner of a residential street with heavy traffic and as such we can not send our children out front to ride their bikes. Bike riding is more like an event for our family. I have four children, three of which are at biking riding age. Obviously transporting three bikes (and six people) to a park without a bike rack requires logistical training :)

Homeschooling has forced me to discover a lot of Parks, Museums and Historical places to visit in and around Baltimore.

Train them up

Child training and rearing is a touchy subject to some and difficult to implement for others.

I and all believers should be guided by the book of Holy instructions!

I am always amazed at the clarity in which Jehovah speaks, and when I read the proverbs and see how Solomon illustrates our tendencies so precisely I am in awe.
