When is a blessing not a blessing?

Believers are to affirm what GOD affirms and reject what GOD rejects. Sadly, this is not the case when it comes to bearing children. The society has infiltrated the church with the ungodly idea that children are no longer a blessing, but an endeavor that requires risk analysis.

This truly is an anti-scriptural stance, many a believer will tell you about the blessings entitled to the them, while out of the other side of their mouths bitter water is flowing against "that blessing". Why is this blessing not a blessing?

  1. A lack of faith in Jehovah
  2. Selfishness
  3. Deception
A lack of faith causes the believer to lose focus on who sustains them and causes us  to take our eyes off the path. We should never allow obstacles to redefine the Word of GOD! Jehovah will provide and if he does not it is not because he is not able, but we have assurances that if his eye is on the sparrow...... (you already know the rest). This lack of faith is also tied into the deception that a childless or as few as possible life will lead to great wealth and a great life. The scripture teaches us to not pursue after riches but to be content because we can not take it with us. Too many have been programmed to ask the question (even to married believers) after a child has been born, "Is that it". Is this question asked about other blessings?
In a word, No!

Lastly, the selfishness nature of the western culture has added to the diminishing respect for GOD'S blessings. The desire to have the "American Dream" and to have "Your Best Life Now", has overcome the minds of many. If you believe in Christ you  Are a sojourner in this land and it is not, I repeat it is not your home, for you home was built without hands.

When is a blessing not a blessing?
When it is a child!

Psalms 127:3
Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.
James 3:10-11

Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet [water] and bitter?

Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Peter 2:11 (excerpt)
Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims,......(snippet)
