Train them up

Child training and rearing is a touchy subject to some and difficult to implement for others.

I and all believers should be guided by the book of Holy instructions!

I am always amazed at the clarity in which Jehovah speaks, and when I read the proverbs and see how Solomon illustrates our tendencies so precisely I am in awe.

Example: Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

GOD knows that we will be moved by the cries of our children and may even feel as though Godly discipline is wrong and he provides some comfort in his words.

As I get older I understand and appreciate the importance of training your children because the time you have to train them is over faster than you realize. There is no other resource more important than the Bible in the pursuit of how to train your children and this blog post is written to make this point known.

The scripture should be and is the central point of the believers life and as such this is where we should start to train our children.

Genesis one tells us that the In the beginning GOD!!  This statement alone will be taught and reconfirmed for years to the children of the believer and is desperately important in this day, as the truth of scripture is being bombarded on every side.

All scripture is profitable for the training of our children, particularly the Proverbs are great in regards renewing ones mind to think how Jehovah thinks regarding our responsibility to train our children.

Here are a few examples to consider:
Proverbs 20:11
"Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right."
Proverbs 22:6
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:15
"Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."
Proverbs 29:15
"The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame."
Please remember that our thoughts are as far from his thoughts as the earth is from the heaven and as such unto HIS words we must bend our ears!

We should definitely teach our children without forgetting that their eyes are just as important as their ears!
